Corfe Coffee Opens

Today 4th April, saw the long-awaited opening of Corfe Coffee in what was previously the hardware and general shop M&M's, and Bowsher's pharmacy (see picture at Croeso) before that.

The cafe supplies tea & coffee (all Fair Trade and Organic) plus soft drinks and cakes. It's managed by Simon Walker (rear, stripy shirt) with a team of volunteers. Supported financially by the Willmore Trust, it aims to provide a relaxed meeting place for the village.

A friendly welcome was evident today, plus a good coffee and an excellent Danish Pastry at a very reasonable price.

Lovely coffee shop

I visited the coffee shop today with a friend and my 2 children. My Son has type 1 diabetes and coealiac, so finding somewhere for him to have a treat is difficult. The staff were friendly, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Im lactose intolerant so I had a soy milk latte (which was lovely!) We brought our own bread and they made my Son a bacon sandwich and best of all, the lovely man who servied us was well informed - we will definitely be visiting again thank you Corfe Corfee!!! x

Another fan

I think this is great. It is a lovely coffee shop, child friendly, welcoming staff, the coffee is as good as the high street brands and half the price. Thank you.

Hello from Corfe Coffee

Hello everyone,

I'm Simon, and i am responsible for the day to day running of Corfe Coffee, the village's new coffee shop. As mentioned by other people already, our aim is to provide a much needed venue where everyone from the community is welcome. We really would like to see people from within the community having a great time and enjoying our relaxed atmosphere.

Firstly a massive thanks to everyone who has already visited us, we have had an overwhelmingly positive response and an incredibly successful first week. We are especially thankful for the time and trouble people have put into filling in our questionnaires about what you would want from the shop. Our main mission statement is to do what YOU want as the whole place is about you. Please tell us if there is anything you would like us to do.

To start with we have kept our menu and facilities simple and functional, but more and more things are being added to the shop on a daily basis, today we took delivery of high chairs, which i know many parents have requested on their questionnaires.

We have also been in contact with 2 local artists and will be displaying their artwork soon.

We are selling books courtesy of "Book People" and have already started a free book exchange. We also have colouring books for youngsters.

We are developing a lunchtime food menu and will be asking for your input over the next week. We hope to be able to provide lunchtime food within the next couple of weeks.

We aim to keep all of our produce simple, high quality and affordable. As we have mentioned to many of our customers, the more people who come and enjoy our food and drink, the lower we can keep the prices (which we have been repeatedly told are very reasonable!!)

We would really like to see many different groups of friends chosing to meet up at our shop on a regular basis, who knows you'll probably make some new friends at the same time.

I look forward to seeing more of you all and look forward to your participation as we develop the shop for your needs.

Thanks for everything so far.

Thumbs up

Marie & I visited the cafe and can confirm that it is exactly what the village needs. A meeting place with quality & affordable refreshments. Congratulations and we look forward to the development of the shop element.
