Susan Jefferies retains County Council seat

The local elections returned Susan Jefferies comfortably to represent Corfe Mullen on the County Council. She received nearly half the votes cast, more than the next two candidates combined.

Dave Evans for UKIP got 25%, reflecting the party's growing popularity in the country, and pushing Sarah Burns for the Conservatives into third place with 22%.

Dave Peden trailed with 4.3% of the vote, not reflecting Labour's national vote share, but very much in line with the historic low vote for Labour locally.
