Corfe Mullen Carnival - Not just one day!

Corfe Mullen Carnival is almost here once more and this year it’s bigger than ever before. Now in its 47th year, Carnival 2013 will be raising funds for Forest Holme Hospice and the Corfe Mullen Village Hall.

Carnival Princess, Emma Fall, with her attendants

This year’s event got underway in March, with the selection of Emma Fall as Carnival Princess. Emma and her attendants will take part in the street procession on Saturday 8th June and, on arriving at the recreation ground, will declare the carnival open by releasing 47 balloons – one balloon for each year that the carnival has been held in the village.
A collection will take place along the procession route, with the proceeds going directly to the nominated charities, so do come along and show your support.

Carnival activities commence on Thursday 6th June, with the annual Carnival Quiz which will be held at The Dorset Soldier from 7.30pm. Come along and test your knowledge. There are prizes up for grabs for Groups of five, all hoping to take the title of ‘Brain-Boxes of Corfe Mullen’.

Details of the activities will be found on posters around the village in the forthcoming weeks, and the web-site will also keep you up to date www.corfemullencarnival.com These events are organised for the community to take part in and are supported by Synergy Housing’s Neighbourhood Panel, Richards TEAM Estate Agents, the Parish Council, England & Company, Seyward Window Co Ltd, the Co-operative Membership, Monroe Hairdressing, M B Wilkes and The Little Gift Room.
