Tales and Drumming

Corfe Mullen Youth and Community Centre will be opening their doors to local families on the evening of Friday 27th June. The free entry event, sponsored by Corfe Mullen Parish Council is one of a series of performances leading up to the Sting in the Tale Storytelling Festival, being held at a variety of venues between East Dorset and Christchurch from 15th to 25th August 2014.

Dorset based storyteller Taprisha will bring tales from around the world with Cheikh Diop of African Arts providing drumming workshops and storytelling, bringing a multi-cultural flavour to the evening.

If the weather is fine the Youth Centre will hold a Barbecue and refreshments will be available in the club for the audience to purchase. Unless it is raining the storytelling and drumming will take place on the field next to the Youth Club so bring rugs, mats or chairs to sit on (and a jacket if it is chilly).

The stories and drumming workshops are suitable for all ages so why not join us for a fun filled evening and you can even bring a picnic for the whole family to enjoy on Friday 27th June 2014 at 6.45p.m. – 8.45p.m.
