We Will Remember Them

We will remember them

They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

These words are taken from the "Ode of Remembrance" that was written by Laurence Binyon to honour the British soldiers who died in the First World War. All over the country, these words are said at Remembrance Services as poppy wreaths are laid in churches and by War Memorials.

I took this photo when I was in Corfe Mullen in the summer. It's from the Garden of Remembrance at St Nicholas' Parish Church, and I think it makes a fitting tribute. This year we have a lot of young men to remember, as well as those who died in long ago wars.
